Q: What is Dexamethasone (a tablet) used for?
I have a reaction on my groin area when my skin got in contact with Candid B cream. I was given this as well as Lamisil and Aerius. Does anyone have any suggestions on what I should use?
A: Dexamethasone is a potent synthetic member of the glucocorticoid class of steroid hormones. It acts as an anti-inflammatory and immunosuppressant. Its potency is about 20-30 times that of hydrocortisone and 4-5 times of prednisone
Q: can i take a allergy med. and cough syrup at the same time?
Can I take an allergy pill(aerius) and a cough syrup (buckleys) at the same time?...if not, how much time do i need in between taking them?
A: Buckley's is based on organic ingredients and as far as I know has no reactions with other drugs.
Q: Allergies (sinus) that aren't fixed with antihistamines, what can we do?
My husband has been plugged up for a month, suffering because of a chronically runny nose, plugged sinuses, puffy eyes. We've tried Aerius, Allegra D, NeoCitran, Tylenol sinus, a neti pot, and right now he's trying Bennelyn vapours. I don't know what to do.
What is an ENT?
A: hot showers and nothing else this could be a reaction from using to much stuff and try going to an ENT
Q: Terribly itchy eyes, unlimited sneezing, can you suggest?
I was wondering its allergy due to pollens in this season, but I am home most of the times and even the doors and windows have a net lining, limiting even dust from coming in. Yes, I do have a peace lily plant at home, could this be the cause of my allergy? I have been taking Allegra D daily, since it didnt help, I was prescribed Aerius for allergy, but neither helps....please suggest cause and remedy. Thanks
A: Certainly sounds like hay fever. Eat local honey all year round to let your body build a tolerance for the local flora. It will reduce the fever in Summer. Also try mixing a tablespoon of Apple Cider Vinager with it, and use lots of the vinager in Summer. It works for everything.
You may be allergic to something else either, still try Apple cider vinager.
Q: is 56 beats per second good/bad, for a 16 yr old male?
out of curiosity i measured my BPS the other day, before any exercise, just after breakfast, and it was 56 beats in a minute :O, i do quite a lot of exercise, but am out now, coz i twisted my foot, i'm taking some ipobrufen pills, and some alergy pills called aerius, could the meds have anything to do with that?
usually after running my heartrate never goes over 120...
like running a lot!
A: It's a Little low but nothing to worry about.
Q: i have really bad seasonal allergies?
my nose is really stuffed i can hardly breathe thru my nose. Yesterday i took aerius the pharmacist says it take a couple of days to work. is there anything else i should do? i dont want to take allergy shots.
A: aerius is effective for allergies. it may cause some CNS side effects cause it enters the circulation.
There is a nasal drug called nasal crom also known as cromolyn sodium. It has the a similar mechanism of action as aerius (it blocks the mast cells from recognizing antigens, so they will not release histamine. aerius simply blocks the histamine receptor. histamine is what causes the allergy symptoms). It is safe for long term use during the allergy season (up to 12 weeks).
Nasal crom has NO SIDE EFFECTS. Thats the great thing about it. It stays in the nose and the nose only.
Q: do i have allergies or a cold?
i'm confused, i don't know if i should buy tylenol for cold or aerius. how can i tell between a cold and allergies?
A: Thats not true really....
I have allergies and I stay in bed and feel like crap... It also makes my stomach hurt really bad...
I would read up on it, and maybe go to the dr,
I get shots and have many meds to make me feel better.
Q: Question about Allergy medication?
I am currently using Aerius allergy medication. I am still getting runny noses and itchy eyes sometimes when the medication says it will help with that. Am i expecting too much from these meds or do they work only sometimes? Or is Aerius not a good brand.
A: thats the same with my allergy medication. I think they only work sometimes and help with mild allergies, but the unlucky ones who suffer from severe allergies have a problem trying to find a medication that actually helps.
Ive tried a few different medications, and none really helped me completely. Im still experimenting with stuff.
the next time your at the doctor, mention that your medication isnt working like you expected...
Q: can urticaria be related to ear popping?
during the last few months I have developed urticaria (nettle rash)..also during the last month I experience ear popping..as some sites suggest both of these conditions are commonly caused by an allergy. is that true? what kind of allergy could it be? i used some antistamines (aerius) and a cream which improved my urticaria but still im havent completely overcome it. i am obsessed that i have sth more serious (a blood infection!)..is my obsession just an obsession or should I worry about these two conditions?? please answer using medical evidence. Thanks!!
i also moved from Greece to the UK to study this year..could the climate change play a role in the development of urticaria/ear popping
A: Just an obsession. The era popping and the rash are not related. Your doctor should give you a prescription for a drug called Atarax. That will take care of the itching and allow the rash to go away. As for the ear popping, it could be sinus-related. If you're still concerned and want piece of mind, have your doctor do some routine bloodwork to rule out infection.

Q: My legs cramp up all the time and its EXTREMELY painful?! 10 points best answer! please help.?
it randomly happens and i thought it was from taking the pill aerius but i stopped taking it and its still happening?
It feels like somebody is stabbing my calves with a knife and like twisting it, for about 2 minutes straight.
and all i can do is sit there in pain and agony.
Does anybody know what this is or why it happens ?
A: Do you do a lot of exercise or working out in the gym? Are you doing something new recently that is using your legs in a different way than you're used to? If you've recently taken up jogging or something like that it is possible that you aren't cooling down properly after your run. If you suddenly stop running the lactic acid created by the exercise will pool in your muscles and can cause real painful cramps. Leg cramps are often the sign of lack of potassium or not drinking enough water. Increase your water to at least 8 glasses per day and take a therapeutic dose of potassium. Eat lots of bananas, for one thing. You probably should have your blood tested to see what your potassium level is. You didn't say how old you are, but leg cramps often happen to teens during growth spurts. Also, "sitting in pain and agony" is the worst thing you can do. During these cramps get up and walk around the room - that will encourage your muscle to work normally.
Q: still recovering from virus?
Hi,
I have been suffering from viral infection (possibly Sinus) from past week. Symptoms are much better now. Congestion is better, and weakness is gone. However I am feeling drowsiness possibly because of allergy medicine I am taking - Aerius ?
So i decided to go for Cardio today. However, i got tired easily and didn't feel I had enough strength as before.
Should I take few days off ...am i not recovered yet ?
One more question - Can Viral infection cause lower back pain - on the bone ?
A: Viruses take a long time to recover completely. It can take a month or more. Give your body time to rest. I don't know if it is bad enough to take a few days off or not since I am not there but I highly suggest that you stay far away from a lot of physical activities.
